On Citalopram & starting Champix tomorrow....

Hi all,

I am new to this but needed some advice....I am starting on Champix tomorrow but am slightly apprehensive due to reading some very very bad reviews on this drug also to the fact that I take Citalopram & Mirtazipine (only a night to aid with sleeping) and am scared it may interact badly.

I have been smoking for around 12 years now and really want to quit as I'm struggling with breathing after walking short distances and getting a sore throat all the time etc.

My stop smoking councillor did get the recommendation from my doctor prior to prescribing this.

Can anyone please offer some advice?

He did mention that they can counteract one another but that's all....

Hi boo

It's a strange one this is as it seems like some GPs won't proscribe it with anti depressive

Mine didint with me as iv a history of mental illness. Even tho iv not took my Prozac for a good 3 year now

My mum on anti Ds and they wouldn't give her champix too

But a friend of mine who goes a different doctors were proscribe to her even tho she is on anti Ds and they sent her crazy. Another GP said they shouldn't have gave her them and didn't look st her medical records first

Best thing do us go to see ur GP
