Things are better the last several days for me. I still get the urge but I'm not giving in to them. It's been a while since I wrote so I just wanted to check in.
The battle is not over but I'm going to win!!
Hi to you all and great job as well. btw-today will make 69 days without smoking after 2 packs per day for the last few years and smoking just shy of 30 years! It's also my 32nd day without the patch.

Excellent! Well done to you. That is a real achievement 30 year habit and you almost have it beaten in 69 days the battle may not be over but I would place a bet that you will definitely win! With some people you can just tell!
To give a frame of reference, I've smoked somewhere between 350,000 and 500,000 in my lifetime... Yep, that really is a half a million of the little critters, one after the other from dawn until dusk.
I've often wondered what they would look like stacked up in a pile.
I was smoking around 60 a day before I quit 20 months ago, my second quit since I started seriously smoking at around age 16, with an almost five year quit in the meantime between ages 34 and 38.
I'm now 50, and have finally come to my senses (well, I was hospitalized and realized I was voluntarily killing myself).
I don't really know why I'm saying all this, other than to illustrate what a crazy habit it is, how it should really be banned altogether, and how important it is for people to stop while they can.
Sorry for the rant, but once again, happy to hear your quit is going well.
Thanks to you all for the great replies. Alex, you are not ranting. I think it's good for people to talk about this. It keeps it fresh to us all and reminds us of how bad this is and why we are quiting. Good luck to all of you!!
Well done!! Im just behind you and feel the same way, I tend to find the thoughts occasionally sneak in when your not expecting it and knock you off guard. Moody moo mood swings still driving me nuts but have stopped gaining weight now that Im back exercising. Theres no way Im going back to smoking now that I have done it!
Thanks Angie and Shelly. I really have not experienced any mood swings through out my entire quit. I guess everyone around me got lucky. lol
I have gained 5 or 6 pounds but have held it there for 1 month now and I do want to loose it. You would think that would be easy but it's not. I'm eating better and more often just less each time. I've been slacking on playing my drums and that's great cardio so I really need to get with it.
