Still here - is it really eighteen months since I last had a cigarette? Wow. WOW.

I'd rather slice my toes off with a rusty razor than pick up one of those bloody things again.

Hooray for us all!

I know I haven't been here for a little while, but we have recently moved and I am very busy renovating our new house. However, I am still here and still going strong. Well done to all the other 2011 New Year quitters as well.

Listen to you all bragging about how long you've been off the tabs. You make me puke the lot of ya :)

Seriously though......well done. I just love reading threads like this. Its months of reading threads like this from you lovely lovers that made me begin to believe I could actually do this........eventually.

Let me think....hmmmm......... 5th November 2013. Ooooooh bonfire night.....there'll even be fireworks (beat that you lot)! Well i'll be right here bragging like a good 'un about my 18 months. Can't wait :D

Me still here too.

Having it a bit rough lately, sisters dying of cancer (never smoked in her life), Dad's got skin and prostrate cancer and on top of that redundancy threats at work and all whilst in the process of moving house

Could have had a ciggie the other day when feeling down but opened a bottle of wine instead........... best decision i made ;)

Pete - really sorry to hear about your sister and all your troubles :(

Live can throw you some nasty curveballs, but cigarettes don't improve crappy situations, they just add to the crap. Luckily we're far enough out of the woods now to be able to recognise that fact.

Thinking of you xxx

well done to all that have reached 18 months thats a great achievement :)

there is always going to be moments when our smoking minds think a ciggie is what is needed to help you get through any upsetting periods in life and the longer you have been smoke free the sudden yearn/urge can be so scarely strong and makes you catch your breathe thinking about it but the actual reality of smoking is nothing like the fantasy with which your smoking minds tries to entice you back

just focus on the reasons you stopped and that urge will pass but dont get complacent and think for one moment that even having a drag will do the trick as it dont take much to be lead down that smelly addictive road again

remember N.O.P.E

This whole thread has got me confused....

You guys aren't 18 months quit till 1st July and Helsbelles isn't 18 months till 22nd June?

Is it just me?

Thats right already been mentioned in this thread. They are in their 18th month but not done 18 month. But whatever its a fantastic quit and well done again to all

The OP said that the New Year 2011 Quitters were nearly 18 months....I think the thread has turned into an actual 18 month quit thread like chinese whispers LOL! Anyways, they are not so far off and deserve two celebrations, just before and actually at 18 months LOL!
