Just after midnight this morning (21/5) I made it to one calendar month on my quit.
Apart from my one weak moment (go look it up if you are interested) I've been ok, I think.
Still plenty of triggers to get past but I've been pleasantly surprised just how well my quit is going. The patches are obviously helping and I'm hardly using the inhalator at all, which is good.
My health is better, I can breathe f (flip) s, I can walk the mutt further and without getting out of breath. We've spent the last weekend blitzing the garden; serious surgery. And, it's been a breeze. There is no way that I could have done the manual work that I did in the last couple of days just one month ago - I would have been coughing and wheezing and resting and taking a break and having a fag and finding any excuse not to do what I've done this weekend.
Just want to say thank you to everyone who posts such positive messages on this forum. If I hadn't found this place, I'm not sure I would have lasted a week...

Well done Pappyh it is great that you are feeling the health benefits of not smoking. This will surely spur you on to do another month and then another and another and another...........
As an addendum to my original post, there's something else that I want to share. Just wanted to say how much pleasure I get from ripping the patch off my arm every night! It's like I'm saying, "that's another successful day!" It's very therapeutic...
