I've been hearing a lot about Quickmist! Thinking of trying it! Have you tried it? Did u find it useful?
Anyone used Quickmist?: I've been hearing a... - No Smoking Day
Anyone used Quickmist?
It gave me heartburn hiccups and brought tears to my eyes and almost made me throw up. i think after that ordeal i was ready to stop by easier methods. in a nutshell it was vile. sorry to burst your bubble. it seemslike a quick fix, try it by all means, but keep a bucket close by. it made me realize the lengths we go to in avoiding the thing we all know we need to do.
R.I.P. smoking.
Mash x:cool:
Hi,
I was offered this last year when I tried to stop smoking.
The nurse said you had to be careful with it as it had a habit of not spraying but squirting instead which could make you feel ill so beware if you use it.
Everybody is different. Try it! It might work for you. Mind you I'm saying that without knowing how much it costs.
Thanks for your replies!! I'm soo confused I don't know what to try next, I always seem to fail after 2 weeks when on patches
Wow mash, that stuff sounds awful! Still, I guess it must work for some people, otherwise there wouldn't be a market for it.
MrsMash, have you contemplated going cold turkey? It might give you a rough ride for the first few days, but once you're weaned off the nicotine you can focus more on the psychological aspects of giving up, satisfied that you've beaten the need for further NRT.
Alternatively, go for NRT, but be sure not to rely on it as your life buoy. It's supposed to be a crutch to help you get through the first several weeks and/or months, but in the end you will need to go cold turkey anyway (i.e. live without a constant flow of nicotine into your system).
Either way is equally valid, of course. The end-goal is also the same: life without dependency.
Alex.
Hi mrs mash,
I think I have tried every form of NRT , but sadly never really worked for me, ok while I was using it but as soon as I came of I would be back to the beginning again.
So this time I have done it with cold turkey, I will be 5 weeks quit on friday.
Once I got over the first few days I can honestly say I have been great.
But you have to try what works for you.
Wish you well on your quit I am sure you will succeed.
Love Joan
Part of me is contemplating cold turkey cos NRT products are expensive ( i'm currently on maternity leave so on low pay!) and as I failed the programme I can get it on prescription until another 6 months!!
Just worried I'm not strong enough for cold turkey although I did do it cold turkey whilst pregnant without issue but I think that was because I was in the right mindset as I didn't want to harm my baby when I was carrying him!
Well I've decided to stick a patch on as I have some left! I know it will help me handle the morning cravings!!
Off we go again, wish me luck!!!
Have you tried champix? I tried everything but the champix seem to be working best for me.
Good luck how ever you do it, as long as you do it that's all that matters
Denise.
Yeah I have Denise and I stayed off the for a year an a half! But because I was off them during my pregnancy and I only started smoking again for a couple of weeks they didn't think Champix would suit!
Im using quickmist, i think ive tried every form of nrt in the past and failed, but this has worked brilliantly for me, one cannister lasted 10 days for me, i ran out last night but cant get anymore till tomorrow, got patches to hand to get me through today if needed but so far ive been ok. hope you find the best thing to help you quit, i could write a book on all the nrt`s ive tried lol. x
Anyone used Quickmist - The official conspiracy Theory
I purchased one of these but it malfunctioned and wouldn't "prime". The seller kindly swapped the "faulty" unit with a replacement, but I still experienced same problem.
Working on the basis that it may be a faulty batch I went to a different town and purchased yet another Nicorette Quickmist over the counter at a local store. Yet again the product failed to prime.
The warning signs were there I suppose.
The only thing I have ever considered priming up until the purchase of the 'quickmist' was a detonator for explosives.
Anyway ....
After 3 failures to even get the thing working, I came to the conclusion that the company is in fact in collusion with William Morris & co and British American Tobacco.
Prior to purchasing this product I was trying to kick a 10 cigarette per day habit. Since purchasing the product however, my cigarette intake has increased to around 20 per day as a result of my encounter with the dreaded nicorette (hence my collusion / conspiracy theory)
I have 3 spray units (Cost approximately £43), sitting side by side above my fireplace, their only use being one of a talking point when friends or family come to my house.
I'm often asked " why do you need 3 Quickmist sprays?" or "why do you have three cigarettes hanging out of your mouth?" or "why are you sticking pins into that Quickmist spray bottle?"
Next week, my friends and family are coming round to have a "lets get a nicorette quickmist dispenser working" competition. A £100 prize has been set aside for the first person to get it "primed".
Unfortunately I will not be able to participate in the game as I shall be outside smoking cigarettes. (I think I'll be on 2 packs per day by then)
My thanks to Nicorette for making my stop smoking campaign a complete and utter nightmare.
I would suggest that unless you happen to be a rocket scientist or an explosives expert avoid this product at all costs.
I don't recommend any NRT.
That's a very blunt statement, janeye.
Would you care to elaborate as to why you don't recommend NRT (and the other methods in your signature)?
I'm into week 4 using patches and a (now very occasional) inhalator and there is no way that I would have got this far without NRT.
Knowledge is power, so they say, so please expand on your original post.
I don't recommend any NRT.
Janeye wont elaborate on this because I think this person is a troll and has never said anything worth reading to encourage help or support anyone on this forum. That is my opinion.
I'm either a bit thick or very naive but what is snus???
I'm either a bit thick or very naive but what is snus???
It is oral tobacco which is left behind the lip for a period of time.
It is not legal to purchase in the UK and accross most of the European Union.
Ok thanks John.
I may be a bit thick or naive, again, but why would anyone substitute that for cigarettes??
I agree think this person is a snake in the grass.
No not thick or naive. Just sensible
Ok thanks John.

Can't work it out either....still time will tell what this persons agenda is
I didn't know what it was either! I think if you've nothing worthwhile to post then don't post! We're all here to help one another!
I'm not allowed to promote the product i recommend Pappy H. Not sure why, where my parents are from it saved many lives and is normal.
Janeye,
I don't think you can claim it has saved many lives. That would be like saying you smoked weed instead of shooting heroin, using the logic that weed is less dangerous than heroin. Smoking weed does not "save lives", and using snus doesn't either.
Alex.
P.S. I find your signature highly provocative and downright offensive.
I have quit using every method there is in the past . I am 2 months off smoking this time and was given nrt by the pregnancy stop smoking nurse. I used the patches for the first 2 weeks with the lozenges and spray when I had a bad craving. I stopped using everything after 3 weeks and was really happy to be completely smoke free. I spend every weekend with my sister and her family and she and her partner are heavy smokers. Started smoking 5 a day for the two days and then going back to the spray when I went home. The spray stopped me from smoking but I found myself using it more and more often and then I got up to 5 sprays a go, using it as often as every hour or more. The last three packs have lasted me 3 days per pack and I am worried about the whole thing and the affects on the baby. Ran out last night and have started to use the lozenges today but have had two in a row since waking and already wanting another. I'm not buying another spray and will continue with the lozenges until I get over the spray. Also buying mints today to trick brain. I have been experiencing sleep problems and it makes my heart beat fast and erratic. I would recommend the spray for a short period and at a sensible usage. Be aware of it's potential for addiction and it can be a affective way of quitting smoking. Good luck whatever you decide, quitting smoking is always difficult but with the right attitude and plan very possible. I guess what I am trying to say is nrt works but used very short term, not long term or it becomes a replacement and can be easy to relapse back due to 1 still being addicted to nicotine and the mentality of using something regularly and 2 not having experienced the satisfaction of having quit smoking completely ( physically and mentally)
