This is the best argument I've ever seen for quitting:
She says its not aimed at people who smoke already, but it convinced me to ditch a 20 a day habit (3 months non smoking now, woo)

I'm a bit dubious about opening that!
Actually it's quite good...and most certainly would help younger smokers I think
I was dubious too - but its a YouTube link - its a good video - very direct and to the point
WELL DONE ON BEING 3 MONTHS SMOKE FREE YEEE HAW
i tried looking at the video but it wouldnt work
not sure if its my computer or youtube
Whats with the huge letters all the time lol!
Took the plunge and yes, it was a good video and she's very good .. think I'll post it on my facebook for the other mum's of 15 year olds as we are all worried about the next generation of potential smokers.
Her one on the riots is good too.
Thx MrK
What a wonderful video! Thanks for that, I needed laughter and more resolve this morning.

Firstly, thanks for the support on quitting
And secondly, really pleased that I can share something that may mean even one person doesn't end up having to quit - it isn't fun!
I liked the overall message. Just a pity she put too much emphasis on not being able to give up... As many people will tell you, you can control whether you give up or not. It takes determination and effort.
Well done on your three months!
Alex.
She's on the first level of quitting and that's realisation as to what a hold the nicotine has over you .. oops you haven't got there yet have you?
It's not all about nicotine, some of us just don't like being the smoking industry's 'bitch' as the video says. That's a very powerful reason to give up manwhohatessmokebutdoesn'tmindbeingabitchtothetobaccoindustry.
In honesty I admire that you have chosen snus over smoking tobacco .. it's a start and well done :o)
once you have mastered the smoking bit maybe you will move on to the next stage, if not then that's your choice .. Better than smoking , yes but we aim higher here x
ps manwhohatesthisthatandthenextthing.... didn't you read the mod 3's message about keeping your signature short? Yours seems to have expanded.
.. and THAT is what annoyed me about your post and set me off on one.
If you had a 15 year old child whose pals were smoking what would you say?
much better .. ty
do you think that my 15 yr old son, if taking up snus, might then go on to smoking? They are both connected .. if you make this snus sound sexy enough then the teens will get hooked and, not being able to purchase it here, will go on to cigarettes. Do you want that on your concience?
Ignore la la la
oh you do like to argue don't you? Feeling nice and relaxed now and not in the mood for fanciful balderdash.
ever thought of moving to sweden? I hear they have some good rock bands there.
As has been said many times before, it is associated with a high incidence of oral cancer. If you choose to use it because you 'can't' give up smoking that's your choice but I see it as a cop out. You seem quite strong-minded - why on earth don't you take the bull by the horns and give up the weed altogether? It's got you well under its thumb hasn't it?
And you are wrong - my kids grew up in a smoke free environment.
