It's really bugging me as it's been a month on the 7th March and I'm still so tired all the time, which is totally out of character for me being an insomniac!! I gave up cold turkey as I find it's the easiest way-it only takes 3 days to clear all the nicotine out, with using nrt I find it's prolonging the agony. I do find though if I have the odd niquitin minis only 1.5mg it gives me a bit of an energy boost but I don't want to use them really and have only resorted to them this past week..any other suggestions on how to up my energy? seriously I can curl back up and sleep after only being awake for 2hours!!! and they say you get energy from giving up!! I had this problem last time and can't remember how long it lasted, thanks and good luck everyone
I'm so tired ALL the time: It's really... - No Smoking Day
I'm so tired ALL the time
Sleep patterns and most things in your life are being disrupted in your quit. I could fluff it up but your going to get bad times like these. Hang in there and keep fighting as it will all make sense soon.
If you are taking lozenges/minis, you are putting nicotine back in your system - this might be making you tired.
Try some multivitamins and a bit of exercise and ditch the minis
I forget exactly how long it lasted, but I think it was several months before I stopped being tired all the time. If at all possible, you should try to do some exercise every day, and/or go out for a long walk (even better). You may feel exhausted afterwards and need a nap, but if you exercise just a little every day it will build up your stamina and eventually you'll be wide awake and healthy too
Alex.
Suggestion: Vitamin D lacking? Go do labs!!!
I was tired as well...sleep pattern messed up...I go to the Dr,. FEB 3rd.
Come to find out, my levels for Vitamin D were below what
they should be! My Dr. had me on 50 K as in 50 thousand
UI of Vitamin D!!! for 5 days straight! Then she told me to
take the normal amount per day which is 400 UI. I now take a
multi vitamin. Calcium with Vitamin D3.
I cannot tell you how much better I am! Its now been 30 days for the start
of the Vitamin D help...Day 55 for the stop smoking!!! Yipp eeeee!
So yes what you are feeling or going thru is REAL!
Low vitamin D levels are for sure the cause
I experienced this when I quit last year, I was so tired I kept having a 2-3 hour nap during the day. Even after a full nights sleep I would feel exhausted when waking. Anyway I knew this wasn't right and had my bit D levels checked, they were adnormally low, almost none exsistdnt. I take a very high dosage now, but haven't used any for a while so I am going back on them. I've quit again and feel exhausted. For some unknown reason I think something happens when you stop smoking which affects your vitamin D levels. Unsure why. Give it ago its ace x

Go to docs and get bloods checked e.g. for anemia / vit d, thyroid etc for starters. I have and am waiting for my results!
Make sure you get checked for diabetes, I got this after giving up smoking, I was extremely tired all the time, still am.
