Hey everyone, stumbled upon this lovely forum and wanted to keep almost an online journel of my journey to quitting so here's where I am so far.

I'm 17 years old, been smoking for 2 years now when I started sixthform. Its caused me many problems especially with my dad who has always advised me to not smoke and saw me smoking a few months ago. every night when I come in we have arguments about it, I want to end this and bring back my relationship with my family and live a healthier life.

So my quit date is 1st of March, I will be visiting the doctors tomorrow. I am really determined to end this horrible nightmare!

As a psychology student addiction is not a habit it is a mental health disorder that urgently requires medical attention and help like with all mental illness's.

I want to wish everyone the best of luck with they're journeys to a better healthy life :)

:) Hi Brad, and welcome to the forum you will find loads of help and support on here, have a read of other peoples posts to because that can help you in your quit. Are you going on Champix route or NRT route. Well whatever you choose will be good for you. I wish you the very best of luck in your quit tomorrow. Oh Allen Carr's book is an enjoyable read the easy way to quit smoking.

Good luck Brad :D

Quit now and your body will never show any signs that you ever smoked a few years down the line.

I'm 50 and smoked for 31 years. I can truly and honestly say that it is the only thing in my entire life that I regret doing.

You'll get plenty of support on here so "stay tuned boppers, stay tuned" :D

(Can anyone name the film that line came from? It's one of my favourites.) :)

Hey fleetwood thanks:) not sure yet seeing what the doctors recommend, but I find meditation helps remove my cravings when I do it so that combined with medicine should work!

Thanks Capitan, not sure what film that is from though :P
