hi guys, first time on here, going to a smoking group tomoro night, to get my first prescription for patches or champix, i feel this is the right time to give up, im nervous and scared of failing, hope you will support me xx

Congratulations on making the decision to go to the smoking group. As for whether to use patches or champix - maybe the group will be able to discuss that with you. People seem to quit using either once their mind is made up & they're determined to succeed.

I have tried a number of methods in the past and this time decided to go the Champix Route.

I have been really pleased with the outcome and now 72 days without smoking and feel really good about things

I didn't actually WANT a cigarette after the 8th day of treatment and haven't looked back.

like other stop smoking aids, Champix is not a "magic wand" so you do need a bit of willpower but, its worked for me.

No doubt you will have read reports from people who have had bad experiences whilst taking champix and so you will need to discuss this with your GP.

(I was a 20-30 Marlboro Reds per day for last 40 years and killing myself.)

thanks for letting me know, ive been reading up on side effects and its the no sleeping and night mares im not looking foward too, but im more determind than ever to give up :rolleyes:
