Am now on day 11 smokefree and have been quitting with the help of Champix. First week was no problem - although that might be because I was on holiday. Now back home I feel sick most of the day with random pains throughout my body - I also have a cold so feel like I have flu;0(
Day 10 was horrific - spent all day feeling like I will never enjoy life again, but I have woken up feeling much more positive again.
Is it the giving up smoking that is making me feel so ill or the Champix - don't know what to do - don't see the stop smoking lady until next week?
On the positive side I smell better - my house smells better and my family and friends are being so supportive. Breathing is easier and I can already smell and taste everything so much better;0)
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks
Kat

Now for the sickness, I haven't used champix but lots on here have and most stress the importance of taking the tablet during a meal. Do you take it with food?
Maybe worth doing a search on here as there is lots of information about sickness and champix.
Have tried taking the Champix before food, during eating and after - still feel sick all day - may try cutting down to half a tablet see if that helps;0)
Thanks for the advice and hope you are doing ok;0)

Hi Kat
I think you may well have flu itself! Champix doesn't cause colds surely, however, I have heard it can cause joint pains. Feeling sick is also a sympton of Flu.
I had 2 days where I felt sick after taking the Champix for about 10 mins, but I seemed to have adjusted to it now and have no side effects accept waking up 1 - 2 times per night but even that is improving and having much better nights sleep now.
I am on day 16, and it was about day 10 -11 I had the sicky feeling.
Good though! still don't want a cigarette, just trying to get the routine out of my mind now, once 12 weeks have passed there won't be a routine for smoking.
You probably have the flu; but Champix can cause severe nausea as well as some joint pain. There's no harm in cutting a tablet in half; and taking half with a meal and lots of water - as long as you don't start smoking again!
