Finally I am able to start Champix!!!

Hello,

after more than a week of me chasing a prescription, I was finally able to pick it up yesterday and start the Champix.

My confidence is a bit shakey now but I am not going to let that stop me. I know it is bad for me, I know that it has to.

I think I am going to set my quit day at day 12, but I am going to wait for the medicine to start work and stop when it feels right.

All the best of luck to you, my sister has just quit using Champix and she's on day 5 of not smoking and doing really well, I think she gave up on day 12 or 13 of champix.

Very best of luck. You have the right idea - wait for the Champix to kick in. It was about day 12 or 13 for me..... over 10 months ago.

I am now on day 3 of champix and it is definately kicking in.. Let's hope it starts to work soon.

Thanks for your offer Defrog..I actually have the book, dvd and cd from Carr, and I agree..I should definately give it another try while waiting for the champix to work.

Took me 6 or 7 reads each time I stopped for a while and then went back to have 'Just One'. This time it really feels to have clicked and I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Once you get your head around it, it just happens. I've been quitting on and off since Christmas 1999. I was supposed to quit when my wife quit, 5 years ago. I was gutted when I realised that she had quit so long ago as it went by so quick and could have been me.
