Hi :)

Well done you on resisting a very tough day and evening. You have a lot to contend with right now.

I have two sons ......... both much older than yours admittedly. Kids are pretty resilient and often surprise us with their ability to accept and adapt. Explain to your lad before hand in a smiley but honest way and make light if your able, about the wheel chair.

Don't scare him ......... maybe when your not needing it, he can have a turn in it. Make your need of it, and the wheelchair seem everyday for now. He can see it as temporary. Maybe get some baloons and let him 'pimp' it up a bit with them and possibly some stickers. May sound daft, but the more he can do with it, the less it may worry him and thus you.

Your worried and rightfully so but try and keep your worried in hand.

All the best

Pol :)
