Hi,

I felt like I was doing really well, not smoking for days and now feel like I have spoilt everything because I have had one cigarette.

It makes you feel as if you have failed and that there is no point in bothering, but I know there is.

Im trying not to be too hard on myself, but would appreciate hearing from anyone who has felt the same!

Hi Ms T and welcome to the forum. You have not spoilt everything, you have made the decision to stop smoking and for most of us it takes a few attempts to really nail it. Education is key for a sucessful quit so I would recommend reading the link in my signiture and some of the other links too.

The most important thing is that you choose not to smoke, and in the beginning it might help just to choose not to smoke for the day, then at the end of the day choose not to smoke the next day.

There are lots of tips and advice around here to help and lots of people who will be along to help you out too. Don't be hard on yourself, you stopped smoking for 3 days, so you know you can do this, read loads, post often and stay strong.

Good luck.

Thank you

Thank you, feeling a little more positive, I know I just need to stay strong, the one hour, one day approach probaly is better than putting so much pressure on yourself.

I will just have to start again :)

One day at a time and before you know it you will be counting weeks and months!
