Survived red wine

Morning everybody,

Survived a big test last night, red wine with my brother and he smokes! I didn't smoke, but I sure do have a head-ache. Well it's day 5 for me and I wish all my fellow quitters well. Hold the line.

If it's any consolation I've found handovers don't last as long :)

Well done on making it through a difficult test and an extra well done on your day 5 - nearly a whole week

Good Morning Peter, if its any consolation I dont get hangovers.

Oh I think thats cause I only have one glass :D

5 Days is brilliant you are doing so well, you have the right attitude, you have decided to quit and you dont want to smoke so you will find it easier to stay quit, keep focused on your smoke free life and dont dwell too much on the craves when you get them, just let it be a passing thought not a long term thing that stays in your mind.

Have you tried the ice cold water yet thats a good way to distract from the craves.

Have a good weekend.

Hello Skylark,

reading and writing these posts has really proven to be a massive help to me. And a big side bonus is getting to know new people, even if only on a peripheral level.

It is the first time I have ever participated in any kind of online forum. I am fascinated, especially as nearly everyone is from the UK(which also sounds absolutely beautiful).

I enjoy following your posts.

Hi Pete ,I also am new to forum life and never felt it was for me. A bit private and suspicious I guess.

but I was desperate to find the magic key after so many futile quits.knew in my heart that I needed to communicate with those going through it . so I googled no smoke forums -and found this place. I thank god [to tell the truth I have no idea who I pray to but hey ho !]-and here we are chatting with a huge common bond regardless of age , political stance, colour or religion .

love it !!:D:D

I do believe that [apart from some obvious nutters] -that -yes we smoked and it isnt good - but we aint bad folk?

yes -spring here in the uk is lovely :) oh but for the dratted rain :(.

see I didnt swear there [see previous post Pete !!] xx

Hi Pete and Skylark

Just wanted to say a huge well done to both of you, you are doing really well and have great quits going, stick at it its so worth it.

I met quit buddies on here in my first week and still chat to them online now, its not so often now but just wanted to say to you both that I could not have got this far (7 months today) without this forum, it gave me so much help, advice and support.

Keep going you are doing great.

Thank you very much Dee,

And congratulations to you. I am inspired so much by the succeeders. This is what has been missing for me before. It was very lonely quitting alone. Now I feel part of a wonderful supportive community. Thank you all.

Peter

Peter,

Nice one. Was worried about red wine myself but handled it no problem and am already noticing the difference in taste (definite improvement) on Day 4......
