Well 6 weeks in and am feeling pretty low at the mo Had a bad day yesterday - I seem to have developed the ability to smell ciggie smoke from 200 metres and it still smells sooooooo good. Hayfever is no better I was hoping that quitting may have helped but no - woke up with puffy eyes, headache and blocked nose. To top it all my teeth have become sensitive since I've quit so ice cold water is a non starter grrrrrrrrrr.
Generally feeling fat, spotty, tetchy and fed up.
Moan over - promise

Hi Pookie
6 weeks already ? flown by that.......
Hang in there Pookie will be so worth it trust me, a few more weeks down the road and everything starts settling you will love the freedom you will have ... Not sure about the hay fever as i dont suffer from it ...but perhaps it is a bit worse because now your not smoking nothing is as blocked hopefully it will settle for you, as for the teeth think everyone has suffered some sot of discomfort but they will calm down as your gums return to their normal non smoking size and become less sensitive....... hang in there Pookie

pookie my matey xx .i know wot u mean with the smoke smell being good...just try to laugh at it .its just a thought & the more you think about it the worse it is.....Look at all ure ailments (not nice )) as a good sign that ure body is getting better after years of horrible smoke...xxx dont you dare do any smoking you will feel much much worse then you do now ...xx
Thanks guys - I know part of it is because I'm knackered. Don't think I've slept well for a week or so. It's just everything seems to hit you at once
Never had sensitive teeth before and it's horrible. Might book in to see the dentist but don't think I could handle a scale and polish at the mo
@ Bradders - 6/10?? Must try harder !
@ Kitkat - Don't worry mate - you'd have to tie me down and force me to smoke. There's no going back now! My bl**dy neighbour has just lit up outside and it's wafting through the window Mmmmmmmm.
Seriously though I still adore the smell of smoke, and sometimes purposely sniff at it (is that wrong?) But once the fag is out the person stinks to me so guess I'm 50/50 there! And also it makes me wheeze now so I dread to think what I'd feel like if I had a fag now!
My gums are a bit sensistive and at the moment got a huge fat ulcer inside my lip which I keep biting.
All the joys of the smoke free life, but so worth it!

Hi Shelly
Your gums are sore because they are decreasing ...when we smoke our gums are inflamed when we giveup the smokes our gums start to get back to normal and because the smoke isn't masking the soreness you feel everything now .... perfect weather for lollipops you know tem long thin ones which will help with your sore gums
Thanks everyone - it's good to know I'm not the only fat and spotty non-smoker out there
Feeling a bit better now - there's 3 of us at work who all quit about the same time and we've all struggled this weekend. Must be the 6 week mark or the weather.
Thanks Bradders, I bought some lollies. Never really thought about the gums in that way, suppose it was one of my lesser symptoms but I had a tooth at the back extracted some years ago and since quitting it bleeds like mad when I chew on it.
