It's the first cold I've had since i stopped smoking, and I'm almost enjoying it. It's not as bad as it normally would be.
I don't HAVE to go out and buy things which will make me truly iller and hurt my throat , cough and lungs.
I am hoping I won't get a nasty chest infection requiring antibiotics, which was standard practice, and lasted for months.....
This is so fab! Having a cold is truly an experience where i'm so glad i don't smoke.....
Hi Jude sorry to here you have a cold, ah being a none smoker will obviously make it better as like you say it probably want go onto your chest as maybe it did before, so you rest and make the most of it LOL and hope you soon feel better, just stay out of the cold and if you do go out wrap up warm and drink plenty of fluids xx

but get where your'e coming from and pleased it hasn't got into your lungs nothing worse ..... best thing you have ever done giving up them sticks ...now if you had Man Flu ..... :eek: you wouldn't be able to type now

Lol. I am good. But new boss is an idiot and possibly worse than the old one, and my hours are less again so they can be given to him......control freak obsessed by rules and checking up on you. Appears not to sleep at all ever so he can creep up on the night staff at 5 am and see if they are doing something wrong. Lurks around breathing down your neck. Remotely spies on you through the computer and rings to tell you things you have done wrong, thing you didn't even know about. Has already collated a file of things from the user activity log of the computer that i have done slightly wrongly!!! :eek: as in taken rooms offline by booking them as walkins, due to never being able to take the darn things off despite dangerous maintenance....Am awaiting an inquest/ stewards inquiry. Feckin b'stard low budget company.

I would still be looking to get a job elsewhere.. would have done from the first time you had trouble with them.

Sorry you have a cold Jude, but even sorrier to hear what you are putting up with at work!!!!
As well as your physical health, you should look after your emotional health and you should not have to deal with the stress caused by your employer. Does he have little man syndrome?
The guys are right – it is worth checking out what you can do about it.

Absolutely little man syndrome Steph .....really delighted to finally be a "hotel manager" and have "my staff" to do his bidding....
Constructive dismissal is a very hard claim to take to court . There is an awful lot of stuff you have to prove, and only one in 5 cases are successful. You also have to walk out of your job to nothing as if you have another job it doesn't count. Consequently making it difficult to sign on. Discrimination cases are easir to win and you can make a claim while still employed....Obviously the employers are then going to really hate you, and you will probably lose your job anyway.....
But yes, can easily prove racial (i'e I'm not Polish) and sexual discrimination, it's just whether to do it. I'll have to put in another grievance as they tok so long the time limit is gone. But i could easily do that because everyday they give me something new to be aggrieved about! (pointless though, the grievance procedure-always gets unfounded, but you have to do it before a tribunal will hear it!)
Am looking for other jobs Jase, but quite difficult atm, also i like my actual job and love my colleagues (not the bosses) I don't see why i should be forced out of it, but the management has absolutely no ethics whatsoever and they are an apalling company to work for. Terrible employers.

Time to get out of my job. Threatened to put in another grievance about my hours reduced. Today i get a notice of a disciplinary investigation for not following correct reception procedures....The taking rooms off system because they won't take them out of order...Can't believe it . New boss obvss been told to get rid of me i think. He been there two weeks i've been there five yrs, no disciplinaries ever, very well thought of.....
Can't believe it. No warning , nothing. This is victimisation
