Thank you Allen Carr: Many thanks to the late... - No Smoking Day
Thank you Allen Carr
His theory is absolutely sound, i used his book and dvd to re-inforce my own quit. Although i used patches which the guy frowned on as it was NRT, i still used his reasoning for dispelling the myths of smoking and the addiction, and it sunk in and worked!
What a shame that his methods included him letting smoking occur during his seminars.. as i think i remember reading it was due to this that he probably was affected by the passive smoking.
The 'late' Allen Carr? Is he dead?

I've been having a few serious craves today and on impulse looked on the library website. My local library had a copy of Allen Carr and I've just been to get it. I know he doesn't approve of NRT but I have seen where people have used the two "hand in hand". Have read the first few pages and shall get stuck into it tonight. It can only help.
Wendyann i used patches to quit and i used the book and dvd from Mr. Carr to help break the brainwashing that existed regards smoking. it worked for me, and whenever i saw him mention about not using NRT, i just ignored it.. the rest was sound advice.

Thanks Jase. I must admit I am finding it a really good read, am about threequarters of the way through. I might actually go and buy the book for when I finish the NRT.
Woot, I must try this one too.
I listened to Allen Carr's audio book and found it useful for getting yourself into the right frame of mind BEFORE you quit.
Not so useful after the quit i think but if your mind is right first then you'll have made a good start.
