I took my first pill today so I`m at exactly the same stage as you are.Tried all patches , gum etc over the last 2 years with no luck so lets hope Champix helps.
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Welcome to you both. As Marg says read, read and then read some more, this is what has kept us stopped. Come here and share how you feel there will be plenty of people giving their thoughts and your post will help someone else who is stopping. Remember the more you hear something the more likely it is to become something you believe so learn about the addiction to nicotine and change the messages you once told your brain about smoking.
Really weird day, woke up to usual routine , cup of tea walk dog etc. reach for fag packet at 6.30am. All of a sudden I couldn`t decide whether I wanted a cig or not and for the life of me i can`t explain why, I`ve only had 2 days on Champix and I`ve always relished that first fag of the day.
Normally for me the first 4 hrs of the day are worst and yet I wasn`t feeling as if I needed to smoke as much.Today have reduced my smoking by about 5 cigs
If it carries on like this then I`ll be gobsmacked the nausea and weird dreams I can put up with if they arrive.
Actually quite looking forward to the weird dreams bit
