Champix Day 3....still no side effects!

Well hey guys, here I am on day 3 of champix and with all the research i've done i was at least expecting something to happen by now! But no, I just feel perfectly normal, not a hint of nausea, psycosis, weird dreams or anything! What does that say about my tolerance to drugs? Fingers crossed, tomorrow they double the dose, surely that will have a reaction, quite frankly I'd like these pills to be having some type of effect on my smoking but so far nothing.....somebody tell me the magic will happen! :confused::confused::confused:

Hello Nicolajane, I would consider yourself lucky. Although I first started on Champix but only for a week I had no side effects. I did not feel it was stopping me from smoking although I stopped in that first week so maybe it did. I don't think they are meant to stop you smoking in the first few days I think they are meant to take away the craving to smoke once you have picked your stopping day and stop. I believe it is something to do with receptors in your brain, sorry don't know the scientific reasons but only know many people have stopped using Champix.

Most important thing is you keep on going and quit smoking :cool:

hey nicola,

you should start to "feel it" by the end of the week. By the time you go full dose you will definately know about it.

its a really wierd feeling, but you will start to notice that cigarettes start to taste a bit unsatisfying and strange within a few days from now.

I waited 2 weeks before i quit using Champix. No side effects whatsoever! and day 3 of no smoking. Still get urges but I this is the easiest method i have tried. I think give me a week and I will have cracked it

I also used champix with no bad side effects all I had was a little nausea wuth the morining one

Champix Shmampix!!

Hi Nicola Jane,

I also quit with Champix, am on i think my fourth week of tablets, but day 11 of non-smoking.

It took a while for me too for them to have an effect, but all of a sudden i realised i was only smoking half a cigarette as i just wasn't fancying it as much. I ended up giving up two days earlier than planned as i just didn't want to smoke anymore.

Hopefully once the dosage ups the same will start happening for you!!

Thats exactly how I felt last time! but!!!! don't ever let your guard go, because despite going without for around nine months!! AND! not really missing em I add! here I am again !:eek: I have just completed day ten!! REst assured!! I won't be as daft thsi time!

good to hear others experiences of champix. I am on my third week of champix and day 8 of not smoking. hate to say it but the side affects only kicked in for me a couple of days ago - ie: nausea and feeling wildly emotional. Despite it not being the most pleasant experience, the positives of not smoking and finding the addiction/habit part relatively easy to break far outweight the side affects.

I really wouldnt worry about whether you do or dont get any affects. Its been really helpful reading others expreinces on here and you see quickly that our bodies all cope totally differently.

Hi everyone,

I am on day 10 of Champix but day 3 of none smoking. This is my 2nd time trying to quit, and I can definately say that Champix seems to be working a treat! I quit smoking on the 7th day, when i started doubling the dose.

I have come across some minor side effects, weird weird dreams and nausea for the first hour or so after my morning tablet.

Apart from the first day, I have not had a single craving for a cigarette, but yet i feel so emotional! I have been so angry today, and I have been so wound up and I feel as if I'm not going ever wind down....

I am determinded to quit!!! Does anybody else feel so emotional after just a short time of quitting??
