Don't worry - Champix kicks in at different times for everyone. I was smoking the same 20/day for 8/9 days and finally stopped at 12 days. No side effects for the first week either. Other people get 'hit' straight away, and not everyone gets the nausea or wild deams ;).
As the doctor says "just jeep taking the tablets". You'll know when to stop the ciggies.
Oh hec! And there i was looking forward to the dreams!
Hi Nicolajane, good for you deciding to stop smoking.
Don't know anything about Champix, but there are plenty of people of here who do so read on......
You will get lot's of support from people here, I have found it a great help. Whilst you're waiting for the Champix to kick in, read as much info from peoples links as you can. Conquering the mental side of things is most of the battle. Good Luck.

Hi,
I'm on day 10 on champix, and as yet i've not had a cig today, yesterday smoked 4, today i'm just seeing how i go. I feel a little sick but nothing i can't cope with and for the last 4 nights i've had really restless sleep, with vivid dreams, feel more tired than usual, but i'd rather feel like this for a few weeks than smoke for the rest of my life.
Good luck with your quit.
I'm on day 17 of the Champix and day 6 of my quit
When I first began Champix, I started to cut down gradually without noticing it, to the stage where by about Day 5 or 6 I was smoking about 6 a day (from 20+) then I seemed to get used to it, and my smoking increased until I had been taking the blue tablets for a while, and then it fell right down to 4 or 5 by day 11 but I wasn't enjoying them...so when I actually had my last ciggie, I went to bed and woke up, not craving because by day 11 I was smoking out of habit and not cravings anyway if you see what I mean.
And now I feel fine...I have had some sickness, taking them after eating helped me, I have had the dreams but they're nice, just really memorable, and I have had a little trouble getting to sleep but that's once I actually stopped smoking and has gone now too.
I still have a few dreams, but no other side effects and no bad symptoms of quitting either. No craving fags, no need to smoke, no all day tetchyness like previous quits!
Stick with them, they do work!

I know Jack, I'm hardly any good at advice usually but its nice to speak from experience and let others know they're doing well.
