Hi all, my first day on this site and also my first day of not smoking. I have been taking champix for the last 8 days, these were given to me by the local NHS no smoking team. nearly the end of day one. Just hoping i can get some support from you all on here. regards

Thanks shabba, went to clinic tonight to do carbon breath test, and it is now reading 6 from 25 , 2 weeks ago. everything to work for i know, but worthit am sure. thanks for the welcome. regards carpenter
Just keep posting and keep being a non-smoker and you'll be fine :D. It's that easy!!! (we wish!). You'll get all the support you need from this forum. I found it a lifeline in the first couple of weeks. Congratulations on quitting.
hi and welcome, if it is support you need well you have come to the right place. people will be along later with links on their sigs i would suggest you read, read and then read some more.
don't know how old you are, how long you have smoked, how many, etc etc but what i can tell you is that each quit is different, do what you have to do to get through the first week and then see the difference.
come along here to moan,shout, complain, or share the good days, the "goodness i don't smell bad" days, the "didn't think about smoking today" days, we are all here to help and support.

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

Congratulations and well done on your quit. I second everyone has already said, keep reading, keep coming on here, everyone is friendly and helpful and it was and is my lifeline when I get a craving.
You will laugh, cry and think your going a bit mad but mainly you will be healthier.

Hi all,
I'm a mate of carpenter who started this thread.
We both started at the NHS clinic on the same day, we both chose champix and decided to quit on the 11th day which was yesterday.
So far so good and i feel great about not having had a fag since Sunday night. :D
Oh well, back to me oranges and bottle of water.
I'll keep you informed how it's going.

well done Jimmy and welcome, you should feel great about not smoking it is a great thing not to do hope that makes some sort of sense.
Do the reading, it will really help get your head in the right place.
Please feel free to come along and moan, winge whatever gets you through the dark moments, but also come along and let us know when you have the good days.

Hi Naveen, and welcome. We are all here to support you, i would suggest that you read the links attached to some of the sigs it will really help you. Focus on getting through one day at at time and soon it will be a whole week and onwards and upwards.
If you need any help, advice or just a moan come along here and someone will be able to help out or just listen.
