Hi, im new here today and apologise now as i have posted this in three parts before hopefully finding the right place lol!! Quit aug 21st 2009 using champix and have done really well, some nasty cravings but have managed to beat them all and am really proud of myself!! The only problem is i have been feeling really tearful and sad for the last two days, is this usual at the end of week three?? or could this be the champix, i have read some awful things about how champix can changw your mood but dont want to have to stop it... as even now whilst feeling really sad i dont want a fag and know it wouldnt make me feel better anyway. Well done to all you people i have read so far x

Just know these feelings you have now are not what is here to stay. Your emotions are adjusting because you are not lavishing them with nicotine.

You will feel a bit up and down, you just will, see it as part of the healing, there is much better to come, and you've already come a very long way towards achieving your goal to quit.

Take it a day at a time, but i'm sure things will improve for you. I've had a number of what i call 'down days' too, i still get the odd one even now, but not as frequent by any means as the first 3 weeks.

Keep at it, the benefits will present themselves soon enough, you are still adjusting, and you are doing really really well.

I wish you the extra strength you need right now, and i'm sure things will improve soon enough.

Hi Tansy :)

First well done you on 3 weeks quit that's great hang in there

Feeling emotional and tearful is normal for lots of us this early in a quit I feel sure it's not the champix causing this as no matter what people use or even those going CT all report this feeling

It will get better as you go Promise and the benefits far outweight any pain and discomfort you're feeling just now

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
