When I quit before I used NRT gum and I became hooked on that so was always having some withdrawal between chews. The Champix is a much different experience. I keep forgetting to take it though.
My biggest issue right now is that I'm still having trouble visualizing myself as a non-smoker and I think that is a must. Anyone else have a problem with that?

I've found Champix has really made the difference in being able to tolerate withdrawals and cravings.
I really don't know if it's the Champix or if somehow I finally 'get it', but I don't even try to visualise being a non-smoker. I AM a non-smoker now (only 12 days on). I'll never have another puff because I know from experience that only one puff is needed to refuel my addiction. I don't NEED to smoke any more, it's not deprivation, it's freedom (ok, so I had to do quite a bit of mental gymnastics...but I got there).
I figure if I'm having to visualise being a non-smoker then it's an uphill battle. I try to avoid dwelling on smoking/non-smoking completely, and when the thoughts of smoking appear I accept them as inevitable and remind myself I don't have to any more.
So far it's worked. And willpower has definitely been needed sometimes.
I'm a chronic yoyo dieter and overweight. I seriously had to weigh up the risks of obesity over smoking. For me smoking was a priority and I gain weight at the sight of a carbohydrate. I found a sensible eating regime (thank you Jon Gabriel) and have actually lost nearly 1kg in the last 12 days...yeah...I know...ME!
Remember one thing...don't worry about pressure, it is pressure that turns rough stones into diamonds!
