Happy to say my day one has started & although it has only been an hour & twenty minutes I have never felt so prepared and after so many other failed attemps I just know this time it will be different.

Trisha - BIG well done, I see your over a month quit. Keep up the good work
Fiona - Also, BIG well done to you too I agree every part of day one counts as without day one there would be no other quit days to speak of.
For me positivity was hard to come by - its taken me a long time to get to my current mental state & to be able to face non-smoking head-on, but now that I have it I shall hang on to it for keeps
Will keep you updated - currently two hours & seven minutes down!
Well done you on what is now day 2 that's great just hang in there
Below is my standard wlecome and advice post which I try and sned all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK
Carol: A whole WEEK done. Big congrats - you must be very pleased. I know what you mean for sure about your head being in a different place. This time round I'm both physically & mentally ready, whereas in previous quit attemps I wasn't which I believe is why I failed.
Marg: People like you who take the time to let other people know about great websites and/or pieces of information you have found relating to smoking are amazing. I looked through the websites you have posted in your singatures & have found some fantastic & very motivational information. I have now done the same so that I may also pass on this information to other people.
For me the KEY is all in the READING - READ, READ && READ SOME MORE
Update for you all: 16hours & 11minutes smoke-free!
Keep chipping away at the granite block Caroline. Through tough times, and good times.. keep at it. Always keep in your mind that no matter what is presented to you as a challenge on the day you are on, that the days to come where things get so much better will be with you soon enough.
&& I shall keep chipping away 'till that granite block is no more! Feeling more positive then I ever have before but shall keep my eyes peeled for those bad days - will most prob just moan alot on here
Soon I shall be able to post in the DAY TWO thread....
"Caroline - Free and Healing for 19 Hours and 42 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 1 Hour, by avoiding the use of 16 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me £4.11".
That's whats so good about this site!! where all in the same boat trying for the results and we all ........Moan!!
Of course we do alot more as i'm sure you have seen but for sure, like you said, keep reading and posting, it truly is a huge help and your never on ya todd, there's always someone to listen.
