Still going strong.......

Well hi Peep's,

I decided to post on week 4 as i am 3 weeks of not smoking and 5 weeks on champix...

I have been away for a bit, have had good times with my sis (who's visiting from oz) and spent time with our dad, although i spent the whole weekend with the flu!!

It all been lovely, came back to work for a week and am now off again for a wee while for the latter part of my twins stay. The whole time i have remained a non smoker.

My Dad is a pretty heavy smoker and while he respectively smoked outside he would normally smoke inside and of course the house did not smell like a smoke free zone in the slightest!!! Still held in there and while i did miss it couple of times, the urge has not once been strong enough to take any action.

Have, since given up, started gardening and growing herbs in particular, its great to do as i find that now not smoking i will hardly ever go outside! My twin bought me loads from a garden centre as a belated birthday gift and my partner bought one this saturday gone to mark my 3rd week as a non smoker!! wooo hoooo!!!

Last night we went to some friends for food and etc, they also both smoke, we as per norm, did have a fair few drinks last night and this would normally be the test of a life time, they wanted to smoke in the living room but were going to outside until i said no, its fine go ahead....... I did not even want one, it was pretty much fine..... we played cards all night and i had no problems with everyone smoking but me!!! I am very proud of myself...

I said before that it was my 3rd week not smoking but its also my 5th week on Champix, i know much of my ability to do all i have said so far is because of this drug, it concerns me how strong i will be when i come of them, will i get cravings? Will i just carry on from how i feel now? It is a scary thought to not be taking them!!

Having said this though, i notice that my energy levels have not really regained yet and im sure its the champix making me really sluggish everyday. Plus i have balloned in weight, i have put on a few extra pounds round the middle, again i find this a little odd as i have been eating really really well as part of 'my new life' I am eating 3 times more fruit then ever before, breakfast everyday, taking all kinds of vit's, min's and supplements but still continue to look like a little bloater!!! SIDE EFFECT!!!!! oh well small price to pay.... I do keep thinking how i would like to slow down my champix intake and start weening of them soonish and not go the full course????? Can anyone help with this, good idea or not??????

Other than that all is still really good and i am so proud of myself, i have to say its a great felling....

Big love to all,

Chrisps x x :D

Hi Chrisps :D

Well done on 3 weeks quit is great Big Hug

I'm so pleased you're enjoying the time with your twin sister from Oz and still smoke free and you've started gardening as well

And round at a friends who smoked and not bothered by it is also great

Don't worry about coming off the champix it will be natural not to smoke OK and no need for weaning either you just won't want to smoke again when you stop them Promise

I stopped taking them at 9 weeks 8 of not smoking as I kept forgetting to take them for 2/3 days at a time so I just stopped them altogether and never once did I feel a need for fag and noe craves after that either

So to answer your question yes you'll feel exactly as you do now with no urge to light up

Some people do I think cut them down to one a day after about 6 weeks but I really don't think it's necessary to do thet maybe you could ask your Dr/nurse what they think about it

Love

So between gardening, and being comfortable around folk smoking near you, you've sure come a heck of a long way in this quit.

Doing really well and isn't it great!! nice to read this post, so congrats to you.

Well done :)
