Hi All

Been heavy smoker for years , roll up tobacco 2to3 50grams a week, went up the chemist on Thursday, and just asked about the inhaler , the girl behind the counter is in charge of the no smoking clinic , i had to slow her down and say i was just thinking about it , next thing she handed me nicotelle patches , and inhaler and refills for free , as i get my other meds for free because of diabetes , she got carried away with her self and said to me "thats fine you can stop tomorrow and come back next thursday to see how your doing , in my mind i thought to myself i dont think so!!! , and anyway i a full 50grms left and i aint throwing it out , well that packet finished at midnight last night (sat)and i hav'nt had a cig yet which is a miracle , but struggling a wee bit . so we'll see what happens

all the best

Rab

Welcome

Hi Rab,

Seems like the choice to stop smoking was not entirley yours, however here you are and you have not had a cig so i think you must be making the decisions now, and well done for that.

You will find lots of people here to help.

Come along and rant or rave.

There will be a few people along soon with some suggestions for reading.

All you have to do is choose not to smoke today.

Good luck and we are all here when you need us.

Hi Rab

Well done for getting here! I used to smoke that much too - 3x50g of Drum. You can do this!

I love the way you were rail-roaded into this! I hope you are looking forward to going back to the girl and telling her you did it! :D How good would that be!

Here's to Day 2 - as the ever-wise Linda says - one day at a time.

I have quit using the inhalator and I am just entering my 6th month so it can be done. I too smoked 2-3 50g of Drum a week plus 20-30 cigs.

I mean it when I say, if I can do it so can anyone!!
