Patches and inhaler

Hi All

Been heavy smoker for years , roll up tobacco 2to3 50grams a week, went up the chemist on Thursday, and just asked about the inhaler , the girl behind the counter is in charge of the no smoking clinic , i had to slow her down and say i was just thinking about it , next thing she handed me nicotelle patches , and inhaler and refills for free , as i get my other meds for free because of diabetes , she got carried away with her self and said to me "thats fine you can stop tomorrow and come back next thursday to see how your doing , in my mind i thought to myself i dont think so!!! , and anyway i a full 50grms left and i aint throwing it out , well that packet finished at midnight last night (sat)and i hav'nt had a cig yet which is a miracle , but struggling a wee bit . so we'll see what happens

all the best

The support and info available on this forum is amazing and I see Margaret is in touch already. I like to think of her as my little "online angel" watching over us all.

  • Hi Rab

Well done for getting here! I used to smoke that much too - 3x50g of Drum. You can do this!

I love the way you were rail-roaded into this! I hope you are looking forward to going back to the girl and telling her you did it! :D How good would that be!

Here's to Day 2 - as the ever-wise Linda says - one day at a time.

  • Thanks

thanks all for their input on my first day of smoking struggled a few times today but never lifted a cig , sucked that inhaler to death a couple of times today , phoned a few friends who stopped recently , and read of this forum but it sure was a long day , so thanks everybody ,

    all the best

  • I have quit using the inhalator and I am just entering my 6th month so it can be done. I too smoked 2-3 50g of Drum a week plus 20-30 cigs.

I mean it when I say, if I can do it so can anyone!!

  • Well done on your decision!..I was a Rollie person too...I am 47 now, and smoked 30-40 a day for 30 years or more!

    Bad idea!
