Evening All

Have been lurking here and on other sites since about day 1 - started off using some old 2mg chewing gum (failed previous attempts - can think of at least 3) and chewed my way through around 20 pieces before deciding to try going it alone (bad visit to GP and awful visit with cessation nurse, hope to criminy no one was relying on her for help) - didn't want to extend my withdrawal any longer than necessary.

Apparently I didn't say much to people before this quit, think it was because it wasn't my first but touch wood; I'm actually feeling a lot more confident this time. Never take another puff - and finally acknowledging that I never can or I will be back right where I started.

Have tried 24hr patch, couldn't sleep

16hr patch, started smoking again

Inhalator - started smoking again

4mg chewing gum - started smoking again

2mg chewing gum - started smoking again

Now using cold turkey and seems to've worked - though I imagine some purists would debate that!

So here's to the rest of today and never take another puff.

MAH

I have been quit for 1 Month, 2 hours, 54 minutes and 50 seconds (30 days). I have saved £131.02 by not smoking 602 cigarettes. I have saved 2 Days, 2 hours and 10 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 31/05/2009 20:00

Purists??

I think whatever works for you is the right approach.

Anyway you have a very respectable quit building up there, and it sounds like you've got the right attitude to make sure its permanent.

Well done and welcome to the posting bit of the forum :D!
