Well I'm still here and can't quite believe it myself. I have never gone three days without a ciggarette. Today actually feels better than yesterday so far. Yesterday that nagging, gnawing feeling was with me most of the day but not so far today. In fact so far I can't feel any physical symptoms. I've got 11 hours to go until I reach the "72 hour bit". I am hoping that means by tomorrow it will only be the mental craves I will be working on.
Still positive: Well I'm still here and can't... - No Smoking Day
Still positive
Hi Freespirit
... I've got 11 hours to go until I reach the "72 hour bit"....
So, by now you've only got 8 hours to go until you reach the 72 hour mark! See how quick it goes!
Keep strong and keep it going, you are doing so well. And you won't have to do these 3 days ever again.

Hi there Freespirit,
Nearly through the first 72 hours that would mean the nicotine will be out of your system so things should be easier from then on, Good luck and well done.

Great job on nearly making it through the first 3 days! It is great that you don't feel there are any physical symptoms!! Nicotine is indeed mostly out of your body but you will continue to get 'urges' that may not be just mental.... make it through the first 3 weeks and it should be mainly mental! Just wanted to tell you this so you don't start beating up on yourself (your mental self :)) tomorrow or day after if or when you feel it is tough!...... You've done very well so far!!

Hey well done!
I dont want to go against the grain here but im on my 5th day and compared to this the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th day were a walk in the park. I didnt have any physical symptoms not even one cough i was feeling great. It might just be me but this 72 hour bit has not worked for me.
I have been sick, dizzy, depressed and moody in waves most of the day at dinner time i was struggling so much that my boss told me to take the rest of the day off because i went sheet white. and iv noticed teeth marks appear on my inhalor lmao.
But im hanging in there still but this weekend is going to be rough

Thanks again everyone. This is what helps keep me going. Now on day 4. Last night go a bit aggrivating - chewed gum like my life depended on it. It probably did. Feeling better today so far. Still getting the odd niggle which I think is physical rather than mental. Its that same gnawing emptiness but it is passing quicker than previous days.
Hi FreeSpirit
I'm so pleased that you feel better on day 4 those niggles will pass as you said just hang in there and keep chewing that gum

What you're going through is pretty normal..... some have easy starts, some tough, everyone is different and struggles at different points.... I can tell you that if you stay focused and positive (positive meaning not jumping up and down but rather NOT sulking, regretting, missing the fags, remeniscing, etc) and make it through the next couple of weeks it WILL get much, much easier. Hang in there! The freedom you will gain will so make up for these tough days! Big hug to you!
