Hi tayside27,

Welcome to this fantastic forum. You have come to the right place for support and encouragement.

Read as much as you can about smoking and addiction and it will be a big help to you. Knowledge is power and it will help you free yourself form the nicotine monster. Post as much as you can let us know how your doing on good days and the bad days and we will be here for you. These 2 websites

whyquit.com woofmang.com will help you understand your addiction and why you smoke.

It is normal to feel tiered and not to well this is your body going through withdrawal. The first 3 days are the worst but stick with it, as it will be the best decision you will make and you gain so much. Good luck

i'm nearly 2 weeks into my quit and i'm still overly tired. i'm not sure how long it lasts or when it will go away. being tired makes it very frustrating as i am a mother of 5 and i can not afford to lay around and sleep all day! i hope we get back to nirmal soon!

Hi Tayside,

Welcome to the forum.

The tiredness and lethargy should sort itself out after a while. Annoyingly, some people find themselves full of energy when they quit! I guess every quit is different. Keep strong and you will find that things do get easier after the first few days.

Hi Tayside27. Well done you. I am on day 22 & still dtruggle to get out of bed but then I always have done LOL. I could do without a ciggie at most points of the day but the first one(or 4) in the moring are my absolute worst. I used to wake up, realise I could not have a fag & think well I don't wanna get up then!! Have managed to get through that as I am on NRT this time. Still hard but doable (is there such a word or did I just spell it wrong LOL). Do whatever you feel you have to do to get through it except smoking that is :) Love. gaynor xx
