Not sure if anyone will remember me I quit new year when I was poorly and failed miserably after 6 days...oops.
Went to docs on the 15th for the tablet Champix? but because hubbie and are are trying for a baby I was advised not to take it so there & then thought sod it Ive had enough no more fags... so from that point onwards neither of us have had any.. not even a 'last ciggarette' when we decided..(of which we regretted later..haha but too late then eh).....
That was at 17.10 on the 15th so this evening were both into day 11 of non smoking ... its not been tooooo bad, Ive found it more boring than anything else its the 'habit' I miss not the fag then sometimes I just literally forget that Im not smoking now i.e. if I arrive somewhere early and think ill have a quick ciggie first it hits me 'oh i dont smoke anymore...lol'... Of course I do still crave the 'habit' and Im not sure when that stops? its not very often anymore and hopefully will stay like that but im a believer of when ppl say once youve been a smoker youll always have that tempatation eh..
Anyway I hope everyones doing good, gonna have a read through some posts now.. keep going everyone!

Lizzie, carry on and well done. You are lucky your husband is doing it as well. i so wish i had given up before having kids. it really isn't that hard. just keep thinking of all the positives, read everything on here and look at the links people have given, sure i would have given up giving up without this site, i only discovered it very recently. Good luck and stay strong. Remember you have nothing to lose and everything to gain
Thanks B & H your very right... everyday is a day further away from them and gets easier and easier...this time its for real, do I want a ciggie or a baby...mmm I quite easily know the answer to that one!
Congrats on your quit so for both you and your OH. Also very good luck on ttc. Hope it dont take to long then you can spend all the money you save on your lovely new baby.xxx
Hell Lizi and welcome (back :p). Hope you can last longer than 6 days this time. At least you have your fella going through the same thing at the same time, you got each other for moral support as well as us lot!
I know exactly what you mean about going to have a smoke and having to remind yourself that you don't smoke any more. It's starting to bug me! I keep doing it!
Welcome back. I know what you mean about 'breaking the habit' is harder than dealing with the nicotine addiction.
I have read before (or did I see it on the telly?) that breaking any habit, whether it's smoking, biting your nails, dunking your biscuits in your tea, or whatever - takes about 6 weeks. That is how long it takes to re-programme your brain.
I know that seems like a long time when you are setting out on your journey to quit smoking but really it isn't. I am on day 22 and I have already felt as though I am well on the way to breaking the habit. I only actually think about ciggies once or twice a day and there are very few times when I feel I am lost without my cigggies.
