CONGRATS ON STARTING YOUR 10TH MONTH MONDAY:eek:straight up for you....
Well done Pru
Tell me do you get days when you forget ciggys altogether.
Dont forget to give your self a BIG treat. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Way to go
Many thanks to you - I know it's not til Monday. I am pleased to have got this far.
I noted in your recent posts, Linda, that you are struggling. At the moment so am I. No, there isn't a day goes by when I don't think of smoking. I know a lot of people on this forum simply forget they were smokers. Not for me, I think I smoked for too long and it was such a major part of my life. There is a difference between thinking about it and doing it. Last night my husband had gone to bed and left his baccy on the side. It was as though it was a glowing beacon beckoning me on. In the end, I shoved baccy, papers and lighter in a poly bag and locked it in our safe
As long as I can fight the temptation, I will remain smoke free. I wouldn't ever want to discourage newbies by these comments but some of us will remain torn. BUT I'M NOT GOING BACK NOW:eek:
Good going prudence, you know you wont go back now, between the both of us we smoked alot of smokes.......dubbs47
Well done Ms P, you're an inspiration to many on here.
I do agree with you reference the pangs!!
Incidentally what number house do you live and where is your safe?
The strange thing was it did get easier for about six months. Then it's like temptation.
I do think that some of us have addictive personalities whether it's tobacco or cocaine or gambling.
I was a "child" of the sixties i.e. I was 18 in 1967 - everything was "cool". There were no health warnings.
When I was 30 (on my thirtieth birthday actually) I was sent to Charing Cross Hospital with Choriocarcinoma BUT you could still smoke in Bathroom B!!!! Many months of chemo and lumbar punctures but I STILL KEPT SMOKING:eek:
Life was not "nannied" but we are paying the price
BIT DEPRESSED TONIGHT
I,m a new member but just want to say well done to you
Thanks Shaz ...means a lot
I borrowed some hands............congrats again
WELL DONE Pru Hope you feeling better today mate. You should be, wow girl 10 months down today yippie. hold that torch high for us behind babe. xxx
I borrowed some hands...........
Hey, Dubsy, Handsoff!
Pru, really well done and big (((hugs))) cos you're having a wee rough patch at the moment, which is crap. Have you done much reading on the old nictine addiction subject? Alan Carr? Websites? (see links in my sig)
A lot of people who stop CT, using willpower alone, continue to fight the addiction, and honestly that must be such a struggle. I couldn't do that. Only by reading, did I manage to change my way of thinking this time around. I am giving up NOTHING, so there is no fight, no struggle. I don't want to preach, only to try and make this easy for you, as it should be.
You have done brilliantly - Woo! Hoo!- :D
I'm sending you the clap, as I am the only person on this site authorised to do so
I did say borrowed, but I dont think I will give them back.HA.......anyway I hope you feel better...
LMFAO..............................SPIT UP COFFEE.
well done PP
give yourself a big ole pat on the back
Many thanks to you all.
I admit to having had a hard weekend but I think I've now got my head back together:confused:
There is absolutely no logical reason for wanting to smoke again. I like not smoking - must just be a bit of demon still in there.
I really appreciate all your support
Well done Mrs Potts, we are three quarters of the way to the big one year
Many congrats Prudence, you hang in there!
Ten months is a fantastic achievment.
