I'm new to the forum and took the inititative to stop smoking yesterday, having smoked 20 a day for the past 3 years. I have given up before when living with people who don't smoke but I'm doing it whilst living at home and so far it's been difficult!
I'm mainly giving up because I simply can't afford to buy cigarettes anymore. Also I suffer from anxiety and I think giving up smoking would ease the tension.
I really hope I can provide some supportive and encouraging words for you all and we'll all be smoke-free and craving-free really soon Good luck everyone

Well done for taking the first step to a nic free zone, your first days will (or are for some) difficult and everyone has a different way to deal with their quit, but one thing for sure if you feel the twinge/craving coming on get onto this site asap and talk talk talk, or rant rant rant were not bothered either way as long as we can help.
I'm on my second attempt and I must admit to it being easier as I'm not used to smoking as much as I was before, so good luck and well done so far.
Thankyou everyone! I'm struggling with feeling too full at the moment...I strongly rely on cigarettes to help me digest meals so basically gotta stop myself eating all the time Anyone else get this?
Well done you! You can now class yourself as a non-smoker!
I hope you are doing well? I'm on my 8th day without fags and I am still very strong!! Like you my wife and I live at my parnts house with our 2-year old son. Both my parnets smoke which I though would be a problem - but it doesn't seem 2 bother me anymore - it did at first but I'm fine now
