I am a Jan 1 quitter. I quit using Chantix, which apparently is called Champix here. I had been doing quite well, but the last week for some reason has been very tough for me. The cravings are nothing I can't handle, it's just starting to wear me down, if you know what I mean. The last couple of days I have been split between being angry and depressed. I was so close yesterday to giving in, but somehow I managed to make it through. This morning I realized I was going to need help if I was going to make this work, and that's when I found this place. I have spent the last couple of hours reading this forum, and it has really lifted my spirits to find a group of people supporting each other the way you all do. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone here.
Thanks again,
Andy

Hey Andy, where you from then? The states? If so, I'm jealous! I'd love to live there. GA would be great!
Anyway, hello and welcome! I'm sure there'll be some nutters on this thread soon to boost your spirits! Good job for not succumbing yesterday! Gawd, how p'd off would you have been today if you had?!
Hi Andy, l am also a Jan.1st quitter, and l also used Champix. The funny thing is, the last 2 or 3 weeks, has been quite hard going. I am not sure why this is, as up to then, had not been too bad. To be honest, l haven't felt as though l actually WOULD give in, but just fancying one occasionally. Maybe this is how it will be for the next few months.
Keep going Andy! Three months man, that's pretty damn good going! I know how much it wears you down, but don't put yourself back here mate and don't lose sight of the benefits. Square 1 is a total pain in the backside - you'd be absolutely gutted with yourself if you went back now.
I completely understand where you are coming from, I'm going through the same thing myself at the moment..
We gotta hang in there and deal with the hard times as best we can.. I just keep saying to myself "I've come this far, the future's gonna be great, just gotta get there, just gotta get there..."
You will too! You're doing an amazing job! Don't turn back now! Oh yeah... and welcome to the board!!
Thanks for all the support guys. I am so glad I found this site. It is nice to hear from people who have/are going through what I am. My wife has never smoked, and while she tries, she just doesn't always understand what I'm going through.
Hi Andy, and congrats of being 3 months smoke free!
Whenever I get that wee thought "One cigarette would be ok" I just ask myself if I really want to be back where I was, a full-time smoker.?
Cos I really believe that mantra " You're just one puff away from 20 a day"
Never take that one puff, Andy, and you'll never be a smoker again
Have a nice day y'all
I have been quit for 2 Months, 6 Days, 8 hours, 49 minutes and 12 seconds (66 days). I have saved £331.83 by not smoking 1,327 cigarettes. I have saved 4 Days, 14 hours and 35 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 17/02/2008 22:00
