Can the old timers also elaborate on the emotional side of things - I feel much calmer generally since quitting, but am also much more weepy than before. Can anyone explain that. Would appreciate it if anyone could advise.
PS WkdFairy, for the first 4 weeks or so, my eyes would get all teary at a bloody soppy advert and I would have to leave the room to pull myself together, don't worry about it, it soon passes.
Thank God, I cry at every tiny bloody thing, i haven't felt so tearful and sensitive in a long time (probably since before i started smoking ugh)
Both great posts, Thanks for that, I feel more positive than ever! Sometimes on here as well as the good we see how some people struggle and it puts fear into us. A thread like this removes it.

Thank You!
I have got to admit i have been more depressed since i gave up smoking than i have been in a very long time. It brings up memories in my life when i have been depressed, memories i thought i had forgotten.
A horrible feeling.
I am hoping i can get through this and feel much better when i get through to the other side.
Know how you feel had the same problem Taking St johms wort is helping a bit. Because to be honest that was the main thing that sent me back to the fags last year after 6 months. Linda xxxxxxxxx
i can understand how feeling like this would start anyone smoking again.
i was speaking to a friend that gave up and went back to ciggies within 3 months, they told me the reason was because of the depression. I can totally relate to that at the momnent.
Been on the st johns wort since just before christmas and fingers crossed no depression so far. I have had a lot of depression in the passed and dont want to go back there. So thought I would try them they cant hurt and so far I think they are helpping. linda xxxxxxxx

you should be able to get it in any shop like holland and barret - or in any other health food shop - it's available as tincture and as capsules - st john's wort oil is great for any skin problems
saint johns wort is a fantastic antidepressant which strenghtens also the heart
otherwise the Bach flower remedy Mustard might help
Don't want to put a dampener on things, but sjw gave me stomach cramps, just beware, tis pretty strong stuff.
Well, I feel very happy at the momment - good question ... I have given up for nearly six weeks. I rarely think of a ciggie, but I still do think of a ciggie at six weeks, if that makes sense.
i feel ive cracked most habitual rituals concenring the fag ... but now the summer is approaching suddenly I feel apprehensive about gardening .. will I still enjoy gardening when I can't stop for a fag and admire the view. Or, what will it be like not being able to have a ciggie after a swim on our annual holiday.
