Looking back I didnt make a 7 month thread but thought I'd make one for this milestone. 245 days (if my sums are right), sounds good to me.
I hope I and others in this room etc, can continue to be an inspiration to those not so far down the line. It really is possible, believe me!
This place with all the banter and user insights continues to be a good aid for me. Long may it carry on.
I'll end with one of my favourite little 'motto's' at the moment, which is this line from an early chapter of Allen Carrs Easyway. Its not the most groundbreaking or amazing comment ever, but when I really think about it, it sums up how I feel, and it 'outs' one of those major smoking myths that people can desperately hold on to at times.
Those of you who think you enjoy a cigarette, ask yourselves why other things in life, which are infinitely more enjoyable, you can take or leave. Why do you have to have the cigarette and panic sets in if you don't?
^^^ answers on a postcard
Cheers..

hi well done thats brill me and my husband give up in november im finding it real hard and last night my husband told me he started smoking gutted . sorry about rambling on anyway good on you brill
Thanks all round guys, and yep Janet, you stay strong. It really can be done, just try to believe.
how do you feel at 8 months? Is it easier? Or do you still get strong pangs to have a cig?
No, not pangs or cravings. Just the occasional 'feeling' is the way I would describe it. But they are easily subdued or they subside almost as quick as they appeared.
If you can readjust to the new situation then you can give yourself a massive pat on the back and gain from the knowledge that you DO have it in you to NOT PUT ANOTHER OF THOSE B****Y THINGS IN YOUR MOUTH!!!!
hi and glad u are still posting, its coming up to my 9 months (2nd April)
i have started to want a cig lately, which i really thought those days were over. As you say, its not so big that i give in, just a 'fancy'. the thing that puts me back on track is the smell of others that smoke, i really dont want that back.
i just wish the fancy, would go away lol xxx
janet hunny
my husband and i gave up the same day, we are lucky that we stlll have quit together. i say to him that i wil leave him if he smokes, and he says , thats not a good reason to stay quit lol
i hope you dont give in, just keep remembering that awful smell, u dont want that back do you???? As i said, i still find it difficult sometimes but only for moments these days. keep being strong xxxx:cool:
