Hi Cupcake - it does get better hun just keep focusing on why you've given up on the nasty weed. Have a drink of water, take deep breaths (not while you're drinking the water of course - lol:D) scream and shout at something if it helps but don't let old nic win.
I went through the floor on Day 9 too! Poor you.. it's horrible I know - you're on such a natural high and feeling so good then BANG!!! Hits you like a brick! In fact it happened to me on days 9,10 & 13 then 20 but the last one was nowhere near as bad as the others so at least I know now it does get easier!! It WILL for you too!
All I can say is hang in there.. it doesn't last - 48 hours tops!! It's a white knuckeld rollercoaster ride at times but you gotta hang on for dear life and you'll be a happy bunny afterwards!!
You have a lot of support here, pull on it whenever you need.. try using the "pledge" too..that is, when you feel bad, come on here, post and then promise yourself you will wait for at least 5 replies before you think about smoking.. it's a good plan to help you to feel better about something and not instantly go for the fags!
I see the nicotine one as a smelly reptile-like creature with enormous teeth and bad breath. Actually could be a new thread topic "what does your nicotine monster look like?" lol!
Anyway - cupcake. Resist! I have had those bad craves too. I now tell myself there are normal and part of the process. Hard to wake up with one though - but it will pass.
Check this post from another forum - a good way to look at those craves in a new light - it made so much sense to me and yet I hadn'tthought of it! quit-smoking-support.woofma...
I Have Resisted, My Husband Came In And We Talked About It That Seemed To Help. He's Having A Harder Time Than Me His Patches Don't Seem To Work Just Leave Itchy Patches And He's Struggled Every Day Bless. I Went And Cleaned The Bathroom Had A Bath And Started Dinner, Exciting Life I Lead. And In A Couple Of Hours I Will Be Off To Work Which Is What Really Bothers Me As On Quiet Nights I Get So Bored. I Have Told Myself Again Why I'm Doing This Health Etc But We Want Buy A Caravan, And A Friend Of Mine Has Just Brought A New House With Swimming Pool, So My Husband Is Going To Teach Me To Swim Which At 48 Will Be A Task.
Thanks Again Sorry To Waffle On But I Am Feeling Better
