OK - so I had nailed not smoking in the spring and summer. Why have I spent the last week fighting the cravings once more? Is it the change of seasons? Anyone else struggling with this?

I AM - I AM!!! I have been having a rough go of it for the last few days! Not sure why though. Could be the stage I am at or it could be the weather change  Wish it would pass already though. I hate tough days - wish I could get completely back to normal with this no smoking life! The cravings aren't REALLY REALLY bad, but I have noticed smoking has been on my mind quite a bit lately. Hope is goes away soon cause this is the pits. :(

I have read somewhere that changes of seasons may cause the cravings to come back again! Basically when quitting, both body and brain have to like slowly readjust to known situations only without cigarettes - this means that before one year has passed since quitting, hence before body and mind have had the chance to entirely experience our old rountines without smoke, the cravings are likely to come back at any significant change in such routines - seasons, vacations, holidays, etc., all these things might trigger the cravings. Like, I used to reeeally love smoking a cigarette just after swimming in the sea, but this year I didn't go on vacation by the sea so when I go next year, I will likely feel the cravings again, all of a sudden, even though for a short time, because something in me will need to go through that exact experience and readjust to it in order to get over it smoke-free. GAH - hope this makes sense!?

English is SO obviously not my first language :D :D :D

I found once you got past the 3 month mark things improved a lot.

The 3 month mark was a hurdle but that might just be a mind thing.

I agree with Francesca but the cravings are so slight not worth worrying about.

I have been quit for 6 Months, 2 Weeks, 4 Days, 6 hours and 31 seconds (202 days). I have saved £1,668.55 by not smoking 6,067 cigarettes. I have saved 3 Weeks, 1 hour and 35 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 08/03/2007 15:10

erm maybe it is just a stage in your quit

you have quite clearly come one hell of a long way

so you know the only way is forward now

well done on your fantastic quit :D

Thanks for the words of encouragement. This is my first post here on the forum, but you know what? I have been lurking since day 1 and you, Linda Spicer and Buffy have been inspirational to me. Seriously you guys and your comments have tided me over some of the more difficult moments. I'm sure I'm not the only one you've inspired either. So well done on YOUR own fantastic quit, lady!
