not convinced these pics have any effect on smokers.. certainly never did on me because 'it can never happen to me'. But then it does. Think they're designed to salve the conscience of government who know they should be taking stronger action but can't because they make too much money out of fag tax.

Just my opinion of course.. and yes, if they stop just one person, it's worth it.

I've got a mixed opinion of these pics.

Yeah, if it stops even one person great, but i think addicted smokers will not be stopped by a picture.

We all knew exactly what smoking does to us and our insides, i've known for years but its still taken me this long to stop.

I think you block it out, ignore it.

Do you think a Heroin addict would be cured if we showed them pictures of other heroin addicts dying?

It may put people off starting, but i think those who are already addicted need treated for 'addiction', i don't think the majority of people realise that smoking is an addiction just like heroin addiction or alcholism.

Useless and meaningless pics

This types of pictures are totally useless and meaningless. Just because these pictures neither help someone to quit or not to start. Smokers need to understand that their health is in danger today, right when they are smoking, not the day when they will get COPD or lung cancer. They need to know that the life without cigarettes are more joy filled than the life with stinky smoke. Smokers do not need be horrified by pictures or video, their smoking life anyway do not look likes paradise. They need hope not horror.
