After giving in to 1 cig on Friday it was downhill from there. Went to a party Saturday night and after a few too many drinks gave in to temptation and before I knew it I was in the shop buying a packet of cigs, today I feel like a total letdown and ended up finishing the pack, so I suppose its back to day 1 tomorrow.
I suppose it will help in a way because next time I think about giving in giving up I will remember how p***ed off I feel today!.
Anyway see you back in day 1 tomorrow

I more or less did the same thing last night at a wedding do, been quit four weeks and I smoked three fags after I was sozzled and today when I woke up my heart sank to my boots, what a horrible feeling it was.
But Im shaking it off and carrying on and Im glad ur doing the same, we wont let nic beat us!
Remember u r not alone, ur not the first and you wont be the last, in the grand scheme of things its a tiny blip, no biggy.
Mate, don't fret and don't give up on it.. Nobody said it was going to be easy, and don't forget going back to day 1 is no shame... Call the lapse 'experience' and keep cracking on..
Had a terrible weekend with the stopping smoking

It's a little piece of hollow plastic that looks silly.. But you put a cartridge with a small amount of nicotine into it and it subdues the cravings a little. More importantly for me it satisfies the 'activity' part of smoking..
I packed in last week (Sunday) and did it the inhalter way.. Day 7 now but I think this site is great as day 1-7 has been invaluable to me..
Best advice I have read is " I'm not going to smoke tomorrow"
Takes the finality out of it and removes the personal pressure...
I'm now on day 7, my freinds are just now realising that I've stopped, and I'm not going to smoke tomorrow...
Yeh I also like the idea of saying I am not going to smoke tomorrow. This is for 2 reasons. One, as you say, is it lessens the pressure you put on yourself but it also makes any future decision to smoke a very conscious act i.e. "I am now making a choice to smoke". This gets rid of that vile feeling of powerlessness from facing a supposedly overwhelming addiction and places the control and responsibility firmly in your own hands.
