Hi Ruthie
The first week is probably the worst, when the nicotine withdrawl is at it's strongest.
Fortunately for us all, it is also when your willpower should be at it's strongest. You wanted to quit, that's why you are doing this. Never forget that.
My wife and I are on now on day 27, and it does get eaiser as the days go by. We have had some bad days but have got through them.
You can do it Ruthie. Remember you are not alone, and we all understand how you feel. This site is a great help in keeping the enthusiasm and will for the quit going. I am almost at my record quit level  , and reading the posts here has definitely given me encouragement when I have had the bad days.
Wishing you all the best with your quit.
Hi Ruthie,
you have made the best decision you will ever make! You are doing great!
Take 1 day at a time - congratulations on your first full day as a no-smoker u will get loads of encouragement here, we are all loving a smoke free life.
Keep posting x
Hi Ruthie,
Take it one day at a time as your body is going thru all kinds of changes. Drink lots and lots of water to help flush out the toxins. Take each craving one at a time and don't get all stressed about it. They don't last that long. Find something you like to do during those times. The first 3 days I ate everything in site for that hand/mouth thing then a friend told me about cinnamon sticks. worked pretty good although I looked pretty silly driving down the street with one. Be proud of each hour you accomplish and remember to keep comming here for support. Great bunch here.
Good luck and keep up the hard work!
Cindy
Ruthie,
You show that you're approaching this with a really determined attitude. Which shows that you *will* succeed. Take each day at a time, and when you feel those moments of weakness, take each minute at a time.
If you do get cravings, remember, those cravings only last a minute or two - so all you have to do is get over those two minutes - and you know what? After those two minutes you are going to feel *so* pleased with yourself for being strong.
We're with ya on this - be strong and your reward is true freedom.
Pete
