Hi all in week 2......well week 1 is now history.....but definately a milestone. Currently concentrating on the fact that people say it gets easier with every day........and their right! Still depending on patches but kept NRT Gum for any emergency.......or weakness. Hopefully start of another week without the smoking monster
Week 2 (Day 8): Hi all in week 2......well... - No Smoking Day
Week 2 (Day 8)
I am gutted to say I have bought a pack today and had 3- I knew I would, feel covered in slime and not worthy of being in here. Sorry to let you all down. I'll try to try again.
Sounds like you had a tough few weeks ron, so giving up was always going to be harder.
Have you had help with quitting or are you doing it all yourself? If the cravings were getting you down it may be that you needed extra nicotine; Some people use the gum to back up the patches.
Hopefully this time you'll have an easier run at it, best of luck!
Back on the Wagon
Hi Ron,
Just get back on the horse mate......it can happen to anyone of us and probably has done at some time (definately fell into the fag trap myself before whilst trying to quit)...just remember "dont quit trying to quit".
Day 8 (End of)
Well day 8 over with......not been to bad yesterday.....even though got stressed out with broken computer (got it going again though.....only took 6 hours!). Then it was off to work last night........only 1 or 2 smokers there, one of whom I gave a lift home today......can't believe how bad the smell of a smoker is to someone not smoking.....but hey thats why we're on this site eh.....to give it up. Off to see nurse this week as only have a few patches left.....she's on holiday apparantly till next week and no one else has the "breath carbonmonoxide checker thingy bob" to check I havn't strayed before I can get more NRT patches on NHS......but if they cant give me them this week I'll end up climbing the surgery wall...lol. Anyway now into Day 9.....we can do it!
