Christmas parties

Hi, I have wanted to quit for ages and have finally done it and have now quit for 8 days! I'm well pleased but have the work do on Thursday night and am worried - I've not been to the pub yet and am worried about slipping up once I've had a few. Any suggestions? I really want to stay stopped this time!

Tell all your mates that you need their support and ask them not to offer you any cigs... and not to give you any if you ask for them!

Think my mates might find it a bit of a laugh to taunt me but I'll give it a go, cheers.

Then find new mates!

Set yourself an embarrassing forfeit - if you smoke you'll have to run down the street in your boxers.

Sounds harsh - don't go . Simple as that. I skipped mine last year (and stayed in on New Year:( ) But, I didn't smoke:cool:

Blimey that's some will power - good on yer! It'll make this year's party twice as good

Work Christmas do was ok - it was a smokefree restaurant so what can you do - far too cold to go outside!!! I haven't had any smokes yet, and I'm 16 days into the quit attempt - saved over £80 already!

Mine was ok too - cheers for the advice. I didn't do the running down the street naked thing but I did ask my mates not to offer me cigs and it worked - some of them have been thourgh it before. We had a good laugh - and now I feel I can do anything!
