This study found an association between lifetime inactivity and the risk of both Hodgkin's and Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This doesn't imply that lack of exercise is a cause . The causes are most likely much more complex than one factor. What I would take from it is that exercise is very important along with diet for maintenance of health and no matter what our age or level of ability, we need to do some form of regular exercise.

Exercise and risk of NHL
I think that could be true. I have always been a person who would chose to sit and read over active exercise. Diagnosed at age 66 with Folicular NHL. That was 17 years ago and still doing the "watch and wait."
Great to hear you're doing well after 17 years. I'm five years on W&W now. Prior to diagnosis I was a healthy weight but not fit. At 64 I feel fitter than 20 years ago due to taking up swimming and going for walks. Some of the women I meet at the pool are in their eighties and have survived various health challenges.
Hi Shar0n, there was an article in The Times that showed recent study results proving the effectiveness of exercise in keeping cancer at bay and reducing relapses. It is being prescribed like a medicine now. My GP surgery is now a Parkrun surgery. As humans, we are perfect running machines, so get out there and go for it. Even a brisk walk will do wonders!
