Hi all and thank you for allowing me to join your group, I'm not yet diagnosed but have been suffering night sweats and tiredness for a couple of months now, so I went to my gp who ordered a blood test, my tests have came back at slightly anemic with an ESR at 53 and CRP at 19, anyway the next thing I know is gp rang me to say I need a ct sçan to look for lymphoma, this has shocked me as hadn't thought for one second I could be facing this. Are my bloods really that high to suggest this ? X
Hi: Hi all and thank you for allowing... - Non Hodgkin's Lym...
Hi
Hello Ruth63 and welcome to NHL Friends. I'm the volunteer here but I can't interpret the blood test results except to say that if CRP is high it is an indication of inflammation. When I was diagnosed my CRP was actually normal. The CT scan will look for enlarged lymph nodes that are not visible or palpable on examination.
If you read some of the posts on this forum you will discover that NHL is very treatable even if not curable.
When you have the result and if the diagnosis is non hodgkins lymphoma, do come back and post here as we have a great bunch of people with wide experience of the disease and always willing to offer their perspective. Good luck with the scan!
If you have enlarged lymph nodes, they should show up on a scan. I was first diagnosed in 2014 and have had 2 relapses since then. The second and third times around I did not have any B symptoms and blood tests were normal. The second relapse was caught right away so after 12 radiation treatments, I am once again in remission.
