Hot flashes & cold sweats

I've feel like I'm burning up, I feel so hot! Then all the sudden I've got cold sweats and feel clammy. This is not just at night, it happens all the time. The lymph nodes on my ribs kill me when I lay down, from pressure. My Dr wanted me in to a hematologist 4th of July week, for a diagnosis. I'm still waiting on them to call. It's very frustrating. I'm praying for all of you, my friends.

Hi Gailbarnes, Sorry to hear you're still waiting for your diagnosis. It must be very frustrating. For the moment all you can do is stay hydrated with a healthy intake of water and cut down or out tea and coffee (if you drink it). Hang in there and let us know when you get your appointment.

Thanks, yes I drink tea. I wish I could drink water, but after I drink a bottle it makes me sick at my stomach to drink more. I'm still calling the Dr, doing no good. I'm thinking about going to the hospital in Knoxville. The cold sweats, and the pressure from the nodes on my ribs and inside elbow are driving me crazy. I'm praying for y'all too. GOD bless you all.

Gailbarnes, I'm so sorry for your struggles. Have you called your referring doctor to see if they can call the hematologist on your behalf? I understand that you don't feel good after drinking plain water. You might like it better if you squeeze half a lemon in a glass of filtered water. It tastes good and is very healthful. My blood work always looks better after I've been doing that daily. Prayers for help and healing coming your way.

Thank you, I did call today. I found out, they had my records mixed up and didn't fax all the results to the oncologist ( only after I called the oncologist) so their supposed to fax the rest tomorrow. I am gonna try flavored water, I drink diet Mt. Dew and I've been told it's not good for me. I'm praying for all

Gailbarnes, If you could eliminate the diet Mt. Dew (and all things with artificial sweeteners), it would be healthier for you. Best wishes for healing.

I think she should drink what her body is craving. If it's Mt.Dew then Mt.Dew it is.I'm a 8 year survivor of eating and drinking what I want.

Wow, really. I know my aunt had lung, liver, and lymphoma. We fixed her sea weed juice, peeled grapes, done everything organic. Her husband even took her to Mexico to a natural cancer healthy healing place. Nothing helped her, but we tried. I've help take care of five family members with cancer, until their last breath 24/7 no sleep. All were so different, but the same out come. But I do know NLS is different. Praying, my friend

Gailbarnes, what you are experiencing is most unpleasant. May I suggest that you place one more call to your doctor stating that your condition is worsening and that you need to see a specialist immediately. Depending on their response, it might be prudent to attend at the ER. It would appear that time is of the essence in your situation and attending the ER may very well be in your best interests at this time.

A thoughtful reminder: You need to be your own advocate when it comes to your health. Please do what is best for you.

Tinkerbrellcgy is correct.

My brother initially ignored the symptoms as "tired, stress, working too hard, over training in the gym etc etc" eventually after screaming at him to see a medical practitioner he went to the gp with your symptoms. He got given paracetamols and "don't worry it's probably nothing"

Several visits later the gp was reluctant to refer him.

Eventually about 2 months after his first visit to the doctor, he collapsed and got taken to a/e. They took one look at him and all hell broke lose.

Stage 4 T cell histiocyte rich B cell lymphoma.

The docs said that had he have been in his 60s then they would have offered palliative care only.

The fact that he is in his 30s and strong then they hit him with round after round of chemo.

3-4 years on we still can't shake the damn thing.

So my advice is get it checked out now!!!

Well, I got a hold of the nurse today. She said they left me a message on my phone, that my appt is tomorrow. So i called it was a nurse practitioner who says I did not have a appt. So I called back, they gave me another name. I called them it was a special oncologist, but said they'd faxed my Dr 3 times for my CT results, and blood work results. And I didn't have an appt yet, the nurse who does that is gone for the day. Lol I'm furious, I never got no message! They don't know what their doing!! I'm changing family drs, I should have a appt in a day or two. I can't lay down,.For the lymph nodes in my ribs feel like cukle burrs. I'm afraid I've waited to late, I'm not in good physical health because of the depression and grieving my son. I've basically been in bed for months. Thank you, I hope you and your brother beat this crap and feel the best you've ever felt my friend.

I get a copy of all my blood work and have them put my CT scan on a disc so I have everything. Lesson learned to keep all these things in your possession.

I hadn't thought about that, thank you. They did give me a copy of my test results from the three CT scans and blood work.

I keep all up to date and I got a 2nd opinion as my oncologist (specializes in blood cancer) recommended Watch & Wait. I took everything with me and told them to copy my record and give back to me. They agreed with the watch & Wait. My CTs have improved steadily. I quit eating red meat, stopped artificial sweeteners and sugar in my coffee, eat more alkaline plant based food, started taking Turmeric..etc. I also retired from my high pressured job.

Tumeric, ok. O know their gonna have to do something fast, it's getting worse every day. I'm having pains in my arms now , the lymph nodes are all up and down both arms and huge. Now I'm getting not just hot flashes and cold sweats. Now it's like the hot fush you get from a CT scan, but like somebody is holding a heater against my face for a couple min. At a time. Thank you, praying for all of you to be healed for ever.

Yes, I have thought of going to the ER. But I called my Dr today, they said my appt was tomorrow ( it wasn't) they got all my records mixed up. I had to call the oncologist myself, they said they'd faxed my Dr 3 times for my CT and blood work results and just got them. But they forgot another paper they needed ( of course they did) I should have an appt in a couple days. I know I'm changing family drs after this!! I'm afraid I've waited to late my friend. Only GOD knows,I pray your doing great! And beating this crap!!
