NHL : What’s nhl stage3a can someone... - Non Hodgkin's Lym...
NHL
Hi Mennie, From what I know, the staging in NHL differs from the staging in solid tumours such as breast cancer. Stage 3 would mean involved nodes on both sides of the body and a or b refer to the grouping of the cells under the microscope. A would generally be slower growing or indolent, while B would be more aggressive. Lymph nodes - even cancerous ones can go up and down in this disease according to my oncologist. I'm open to correction on any of this if anyone has a better explanation.
I have nhl 3a
Im on wait & watch too
I believe it means its in 3 places & A its means slow growing & no symptoms x
A & B: The letter B indicates the presence of one or more of the following symptoms: drenching night sweats, fever or unexplained weight loss. The letter A is used if there is no evidence of B symptoms.
Stage I: The cancer is found in a single region or organ, usually one lymph node and the surrounding area.
Stage II: The cancer is found in two or more lymph node regions on the same side of the diaphragm, either above or below it.
Stage III: The cancer is found in lymph nodes on both sides of the diaphragm.
Stage IV: The cancer has spread to one or more tissues or organs outside the lymph system, such as the liver, lungs or bones, and may be found in lymph nodes near or far away from those organs.
