Peter Marks, M.D., Ph.D. was in charge of vaccines at the FDA. I know from some personal interactions that he is one of those amazing people who made me proud of our government. Peter Marks is extremely smart and compassionate and he has particular concerns about the immunocompromised, including transplant recipients.

He was just forced to resign.

I am sorry that he is someone you personally know and recommend, that makes the news extra hard to take. His forced resignation along with thousands of others is devastating for public health and deeply consequential for all of us.

In the meantime, 73 more new measles cases reported since March 25th. Tragic especially because measles was officially eliminated from the United States in 2000.

Remember, most transplant patients are not able to take measles (live) vaccine. Good luck to everyone out there.

Meanwhile, you know "he" has more than likely already been vaccinated up the hilt. Just like when he was one of the 1st to get the covid vaccine. So sad.

Thanks for sharing. We are losing so many government workers that are so important to all of us. Saw the same info. This morning on news programs. Trying to educate citizens on the harm of the new administration is overwhelming. So many have drunk the cool aid and we know how thar ended.

This is going to corrupt the research integrity which got us this far with biomedical discovery and treatment advances.

We should all be scared
