I had my monthly bloodwork and only one thing came back high which has never registered anything at all in the 19 months since my transplant. The test was called: Bk Viral Load, Plasma. & BK Viral Load By PCR,(Log). These were high and prior to this it was always zero. It like shot up since last month.
I did call the transplant team late this afternoon so hopefully they will get back to me tomorrow.
Anyone experience this or know anything about this test? If you had something similar, what did you do?
As always, thanks

I had this with CMV and not BK. Even though I did not have symptoms, it was treated it as if I was ill. So they increased my Valcyte to fight it and quarantined myself for a few days to let my body fight it off and retook the test. When it was under control, the medication was eased up.
If you have symptoms, you should probably go to the ER.
I had really high BK levels from around 3 months post transplant. They stopped one of my anti rejection meds and I never went back ont it. The BK virus is dormant in all of us , but because of your suppressed immune system it resurfaces. Don’t worry I’m sure your team will make some changes and sort it out.
My transplant team called right away and reduced the anti rejection meds. They put me back on weekly blood tests and told me not to worry that it might take a while for the levels to come down. They said it won't be immediate. I had never heard of the BK viral .... I don't feel bad at all. They did say that it was usually something that didn't happen 19 months out of the transplant but they were on top of things and will continue to monitor. So we'll do what they say. They've been great so far. THEN if that wasn't bad enough, my wife tested positive for Covid yesterday. 😟 I am negative, feel fine and taking all precautions. 😷. Thanks for your support.
That’s great that they’re on top of it . I had no symptoms either and my levels were sky high. Oh your poor wife . My daughter and husband both had covid before and luckily I never got it so fingers crossed 🤞
