Hello,I am a two time transplant recipient. I just celebrated my 2nd anniversary with my second transplant and things are going well.😀
Is anyone else on Belatacept? If yes, how is your experience with this medication?

I was on Prograf for my first transplant and for this second one I am on Belatacept, I have not had any issues with this drug and also became pregnant and had a baby on this drug. Other than sometime having a headache after my infusion, my kidney function has been great and I am 4 years post. The only inconvenience is of course having to take off from work to get the infusion
I was on tacrolimus for 18 months then Envarsus for another 18 following my transplant in October 2019. I had no fewer that 30 dose adjustments in that time, trying for a stable level, which never happened. I've been on belatacept since October 2022 and it's been the best thing! I'm a bit tired following my infusion but have the freedom to do the things I want without the worry of taking my meds exactly 12 hours apart. In addition, I only have labs immediately before the infusion (every 4 weeks), rather than every week or two attempting to get to a stable level. Best wishes to you!
I’ve been on belatacept since my transplant 2 years ago. Other than some late afternoon fatigue for a few days after infusion I haven’t had any problems. I am happy with my medication regimen. Best of luck to you!
Thank you! Best of luck to you!
Happy Anniversary Leekee! I’ve been on belatacept for a little over a year now. It’s been a great med for me. All my med “complaints” are related to the sirolimus I have to take with it. One thing about Bela…I have found that if I drink water before, during and after my infusion, I have no headache or fatigue after the infusion.
Best wishes,
D
