Hi - If you take Belatacept/Nulojix, do you take any other immunosuppressants with it? If so, can you please share what other immunosuppressants you take with Bela and the doses?

I am 4 years post-transplant and switched to Bela 1.5 years ago. I additionally take 5 mg Prednisone once a day and 360 mg Myfortic twice a day. Bela replaced my Tacrolimus meds.

thank you! I was on myfortic (same dose as you) and envarsus prior to being switched to Bela, 5 mg pred, and 2-3 mg/sirolimus. Have you experienced any elevated cholesterol or elevated liver enzymes on your current regimen?

No, I have not.

Cholesterol rise is generally associated with sirolimus.

No problem with cholesterol, but I suspect that's because I'm vegan and my lipids have always been great. I do have one liver enzyme that has been slightly elevated, even prior to my transplant, but nothing has changed.

I have been on Bela infusion and 1 mg Sirolimus (Rapamune) 2 tabs daily, sometimes increased depending on lab results. Labs have been pretty stable from the start 20 months ago. Tired a couple days after infusion but otherwise nothing notable. Hope it works out well for you.

I read a few papers that generally found Bela to be a excellent performer in place of tacrolimus. The initiation usually led to a significant decrease in creatinine. I am glad to hear all of the users here are remaining stable even after a year.

Thanks! Yes, the Bela has been great. The evaluated cholesterol induced by the sirolimus has been an issue. The prescribed pravastatin resulted in muscle soreness so doc stopped it. Just started Zetia and Step One Foods. Hopefully this will work.

Myfortic (Mycophenolic acid), prednisone, 5 mg. Once a day, belatacept infusions once a month. That’s it!

Hi Bestymydog - thank you you the info. Do you mind telling me what dose of myfortic you take, and if you have any side effects?
